How often do you find yourself avoiding those difficult conversations with your team or colleagues? Imagine having the skills to have open, effective, proactive and brave interactions with those around you.
Understanding the power of critical conversations and how to execute them can change the culture of an organisation.
Imagine having the tools to help you have an empowering, courageous and ultimately forward-focused conversation? Not many of us like to have those ‘awkward’ conversations and we all find ourselves having to have them at some point in our careers.
In this workshop, you will learn how to have challenging conversations with tried and tested models of communication. We use real-life situations and role-play actors to get the most from this practical and interactive workshop.
The session will include:
- Models of communication and feedback
- Weakening language- how to get rid of the ‘fluff’ and say what you mean
- Asking for what you want with clarity and calm
- Listening skills – the most effective communicators are those that can truly listen
- Using open and exploratory questions
- Practice having your real-life conversations

“Toby and the RABBLE gang have been great. We’ve worked with them for a year or two now on our Train the Trainer programmes and it’s fair to say all of our delegates have enjoyed the sessions and, more importantly, got some concrete techniques out of them to put into practice.”
Meet The Team
With an eclectic background, from British Airways to a successful acting career and voice coaching, Julia went on to complete her NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) journey from Practitioner level through to becoming an NLP Master Coach. She now coaches individuals and teams, combining this knowledge with other coaching models and her own authentic approach.
Over the last fifteen years, Julia has been using these skills, working with businesses from start-ups through to SMEs and Corporate Organisations, more recently working with senior leadership teams at Barclays Bank, Blue Cross Charity and Cisco. She has worked across a wide variety of sectors including Pharmaceutical, Retail, Finance, Telecom, Manufacturing and within the NHS and Civil Service.
Julia has a persistent energy wrapped up with humility and humour that sees her clients ‘safely shake their worlds’ in a space that is fully supported. Stepping out of the comfort zone, using energy, focus and an ability to ‘play’ and be ‘in the moment’ really sees Julia’s approach to coaching and training come to life.
Julia’s real passion lies in her ability to identify how leaders can be even more effective when it comes to delivering their messages with gravitas and impact. Through finding their voice and empowering them to communicate with confidence and presence, Julia’s clients are therefore able to be their most authentic version of themselves. She is always looking to create a truly memorable and alternative approach in her coaching.
Julia works as a trainer, facilitator and coach, as well as a role-play actor. Other recent clients include Red Cross, Astra Zeneca, Merck, Browns Clothing, Leading Sportswear Brand, UK Sport, Nandos, Warwick Business School, Wilson James and Recruit for Spouses.
