Postcode Lottery Grant Helps To Provide 400 Free Theatre Tickets For Schools
RABBLE would like to thank the Postcode Society Trust for awarding us a grant last year, which helped to make our work possible.
Postcode Society Trust is a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of the People’s Postcode Lottery. Through their generosity, RABBLE received £20,000 from the trust, which supported us in providing 400 free school tickets to our productions Who Killed Alfred Oliver and The Snow Queen, post-show workshops and Q&As.
By providing these tickets and workshops, we were able to reach children and young people from harder-to-reach and lower-income areas, who may not have been able to access our work or who have not seen live theatre before.
We received positive and insightful responses from our young audiences with one child sharing “I have never been to the theatre before, it was amazing! Our tummy’s hurt at the end because of all the laughing we did.”
After delivering a post-show workshop for the Snow Queen, a Year 6 teacher shared with us his thoughts on the experience, saying “For many of our children, it offered a unique chance to express themselves in a relaxed, confident way and to develop their social and emotional skills: confidence in speaking and working with others.”
We are very grateful for the People’s Postcode Lottery’s support. They have enabled our outreach and educational work to grow and we look forward to offering more free, accessible and inspiring opportunities in the future. Thank you!
