Written by Lucy Kirkwood | By Arrangement with Nick Hern Books
Directed by Sabina Netherclift
The protests at Greenham Common were a political landmark of the 1980s but are now being forgotten or simply invisible to many younger people. Lucy Kirkwood’s short play ‘Bloody Wimmin’ puts us right into the heart of the peace camp with its petty rivalries and wonderful camaraderie and then sweeps us forward 25 years to a London Climate Camp.
Funny, Tense, and touching, the play explores the cost of protest, the power of individual and collective action, the legacy of Greenham and the culture of protest itself.
Suitability: 14+
